The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Dolphins reached some 36 spots for Taulia Tagovailoa, and value like that does not grow back. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Need was not the driver here.
They paid sticker price for Ricky Pearsall in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jordan Travis in No. 157 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
By-the-book stuff, Daijun Edwards at slot 200 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Taulia Tagovailoa in Round 7, Pick 19, miles early. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
