You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Dolphins did exactly that with Taulia Tagovailoa in the Round 7 slot. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
On value alone, Gould makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Olumuyiwa Fashanu come to them and pounced at No. 21. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Braden Fiske at Round 2, Pick 23 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Marist Liufau in the 158th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Anthony Gould in the 184th overall pick, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Julian Pearl in pick 198 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Value said wait; Taulia Tagovailoa in slot 241 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
