Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on Tuten: B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Bhayshul Tuten slide, and the Dolphins were the ones holding the card at the 251st pick. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Every board in the league had Sanders lower, and that gap is the story. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The roster is better shaped than it was, with interior defensive lineman chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Cameron Williams · OT · rank 31
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a building block for the line, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
R2.25 · Pick 57 · Tyler Booker · OG · rank 38
Tyler Booker in the 57th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25 · Pick 89 · Deone Walker · DT · rank 71
They will replay Deone Walker at slot 89 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.34 · Pick 98 · Logan Jones · C · rank 175
They left a pile of value on the table to take Logan Jones this early at No. 98. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R3.35 · Pick 99 · Chris Paul Jr. · LB · rank 119
Value said wait; Chris Paul Jr. in pick 99 says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.15 · Pick 116 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 129
Harold Perkins Jr. at the 116th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
R5.12 · Pick 150 · Jalen Catalon · S · rank 148
By-the-book stuff, Jalen Catalon at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R5.20 · Pick 158 · Shilo Sanders · S · rank 247
A real head-scratcher, Shilo Sanders in pick No. 158 is miles ahead of his ranking. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R7.11 · Pick 225 · Cody Lindenberg · LB · rank 219
Fair-plus on Cody Lindenberg, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
R7.18 · Pick 232 · Thor Griffith · DL · rank 284
They reached into another round for Thor Griffith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.27 · Pick 241 · Luke Lachey · TE · rank 258
They jumped the gun on Luke Lachey, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.37 · Pick 251 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 158
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in the 251st pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
