You could see the war room lean forward. Tahj Brooks at slot 231 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.
Gabriel has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Dillon Gabriel at Round 2, Pick 29 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A big swing on Dani Dennis-Sutton at slot 89, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
