Whoever sat across the table from the Dolphins should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend.
If Ugwoegbu pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

They paid a round early for Frank Gore Jr. in pick No. 158, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ethan Driskell at slot 186 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
David Ugwoegbu at the 199th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fits a board better than it fits this team.
Taulia Tagovailoa at the 203rd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Matthew Jones at No. 217 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
