You can hear the double-takes from here. The Dolphins took Nick Nash at the 149th overall pick, roughly 104 spots before his name belonged. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
The Neal pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a mismatch in the passing game. A clean fit for the roster.
A wild overpay on Donovan Jackson in the 48th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Darius Alexander in pick 98, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Kevin Winston Jr. still on the board at the Round 4 slot. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Devin Neal in pick No. 133, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Nick Nash at No. 149 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
