Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Cowboys spent No. 244 on Evan Anderson, a name the board had a full 39 spots lower. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
