Start where it matters. The Giants took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Polk. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 43, where Brian Thomas Jr. graded well above the range. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They will replay Cooper DeJean at slot 47 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow T.J. Tampa was still sitting there in No. 70, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A need, and now a little less of one.
Ja'Lynn Polk in the 107th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Circle this one: Elijah Jones at pick 141 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Taking Tykee Smith in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
