They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Bo Nix is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Reaching for Tate left real value on the table behind him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Jordan steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get protection for the quarterback at fair value.
In slot 15 they get their quarterback of the future, reach and all. A real need, handled.
They took Brenden Rice at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid sticker price for Khyree Jackson in the 103rd pick, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
No edge and no loss on Ben Sinnott in pick 139; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
