Call it larceny. Ollie Gordon II sat on the board until pick 227, and the Cowboys did not need to be asked twice. Little to argue with here, and the A says so.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
Bottom line, with Marcus Mbow leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
The board fumbled Marcus Mbow all the way to pick No. 76, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Nothing to complain about; Omarr Norman-Lott went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Circle this one: Cam Skattebo at pick 133 is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Jordan Phillips in Round 5, Pick 11 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.

JJ Pegues at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Ollie Gordon II in pick 227, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A tidy little value on DJ Campbell in No. 249, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
