The one they had to fix is still broken. The Commanders left wide receiver untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
The Lassiter steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Joe Alt in the Round 1 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Chris Braswell in slot 34; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They let Kamari Lassiter come to them and pounced at the 42nd overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick No. 66, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Zak Zinter in No. 100. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dominick Puni. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
