Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Packers never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Every board in the league had Eichenberg lower, and that gap is the story.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary. The biggest hole, addressed.
A quiet steal in the 41st pick: Graham Barton for less than the market said. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Haynes at No. 58 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A tidy bit of business in the 88th overall pick, where Renardo Green graded well above the range. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Bucky Irving at Round 3, Pick 28 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They reached into another round for Tommy Eichenberg, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Value with a capital V on Sione Vaki in slot 169, a genuine coup. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
