Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent the Round 6 slot on Taulia Tagovailoa, a name most had 71 spots down the list. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. That Pritchett pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 42nd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.

Value said wait; Luke McCaffrey in the 126th overall pick says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Trevor Keegan in slot 138 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Nehemiah Pritchett at pick 169 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Frank Gore Jr. at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A real head-scratcher, Taulia Tagovailoa in Round 6, Pick 44 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nice patience on Dominique Hampton, who had no business lasting to the 245th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Michael Barrett at No. 246 is the proof. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Daijahn Anthony at pick No. 255 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
