Everything else got attention, and cornerback got none. That is a strange way for the Commanders to leave a draft. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Barner pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The Frazier value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Joe Alt in the 4th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 4; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
A conviction pick on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at No. 37 that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No drama and no debate, Sedrick Van Pran went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Zach Frazier at pick 100 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on AJ Barner in pick No. 104, and the value did not follow. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
By-the-book stuff, Antwaun Powell-Ryland at the 141st overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Dorian Singer in slot 182 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Kaimon Rucker in the 225th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
