Green Bay Packers

The Packers let Hardy fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Daequan Hardy tumbling to the Packers in pick 249 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball. They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Dallas Turner · LB-EDGE · rank 14
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a bendy edge with upside, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 42
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in the 41st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 57
Kingsley Suamataia in the 58th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 76
Cooper Beebe slipping to pick 88 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 91
They took Dominick Puni at par in pick No. 92, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Renardo Green · S · rank 112
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Renardo Green in No. 125. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R5.27 · Pick 163 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 149
Jarrian Jones slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 158
Value with a capital V on Dallin Holker in slot 168, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.26 · Pick 201 · Cornelius Johnson · WR · rank 187
A quiet steal in pick 201: Cornelius Johnson for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · JD Bertrand · LB · rank 211
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and JD Bertrand at pick No. 219 is the proof. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 228
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Tyler Owens at No. 245. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R7.29 · Pick 249 · Daequan Hardy · CB · rank 195
You do not let a cornerback like Daequan Hardy reach the Round 7 slot and blink. They did not. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 236
Steal is underselling it; Trevin Wallace at slot 255 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
