The Browns spent real capital to be 88 picks early on Karson Sharar, and the board is going to hold them to it.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Delp pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill hitter at safety. A real need, handled.
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Max Iheanachor at pick No. 39 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Zachariah Branch slipping to the 70th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Kaytron Allen in pick 107 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Drew Allar at slot 146 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Oscar Delp at pick No. 149 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It fills a real need, too.
TJ Hall in the 206th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
