After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The Jones pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They will need Jones to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
