The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Brashard Smith, the No. 108 name on the board, in the Round 7 slot.

The Nelson reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
