When a board-topper like Jihaad Campbell slides to the 106th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not. Just about everything broke right, and the A- follows.

The Horn Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.

With interior defensive lineman and quarterback unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

In the end it comes back to Abdul Carter, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
