Somebody took the Ravens to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
They banked enough surplus on Lew to cover a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 18 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. A real need, handled.
Olaivavega Ioane at the Round 1 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Eli Stowers in pick 69. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Connor Lew in the 109th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Malik Muhammad at slot 115 is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Joe Royer in the 125th overall pick, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Isaiah World at slot 131 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
DeMonte Capehart in the 140th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They took Bryce Boettcher at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
