You could see the war room lean forward. Jordan Hancock at the 160th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Fairchild reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a rangy last line of defense, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
A market-rate tight end, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Oscar Delp. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had Ajani Cornelius higher than pick No. 69, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jabbar Muhammad in the 96th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They robbed the room for Ashton Gillotte here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
Tre Harris at slot 132 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jordan Hancock in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Wyatt Milum at No. 193 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A reach for Dylan Fairchild in the 224th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
