The Cowboys looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Steven Parker at the 209th overall pick regardless, 122 picks early.
The Campbell steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Isaiah Bond in pick 42 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Tyleik Williams in the 73rd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 149 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Quinn Carroll. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kyren Lacy in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Ollie Gordon II at pick No. 171 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They robbed the room for Jihaad Campbell here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A big swing on Steven Parker at Round 6, Pick 34, well ahead of any board in the building. It adds depth where they could use a little.
