The Titans put a flag in the ground for Tyler Onyedim, 48 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th overall pick they get a featured back. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Chris Brazzell II in pick No. 35 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
Jake Slaughter at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Malik Muhammad went about where he belonged in No. 101. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They went early on Beau Stephens in the 142nd pick, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Isaiah World in slot 144 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A premium they did not need to pay, VJ Payne a notch or two before his time. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A conviction pick on Justin Jefferson at the 194th pick that the board grades a round light. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A real head-scratcher, Tyler Onyedim in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
