The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Kingsley Suamataia fell into slot 97. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
The cost of the Sinnott reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Spending an early pick on linebacker with edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Quinyon Mitchell at pick No. 33 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value said wait; Junior Colson in slot 54 says they were not listening. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Kingsley Suamataia in the Round 3 slot, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Ben Sinnott at pick 98 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A curious use of the 132nd overall pick. Edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots needed the pick; a linebacker in Edefuan Ulofoshio did not.
Somehow Jarrian Jones was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 27, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kitan Oladapo in the 172nd pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Taulia Tagovailoa in No. 239. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Jalen Berger at pick No. 243 for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
