The rest of the league will want that one back. Josh Cameron tumbling to the 49ers in slot 222 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
The Dennis-Sutton reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a seam-stretching tight end, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dani Dennis-Sutton. It fills a real need, too.
Bishop Fitzgerald at the 128th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
DeMonte Capehart at pick No. 133 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 38 with a little surplus value in Parker Brailsford. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Beau Stephens at the 139th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Josh Cameron in pick 222 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
