Nobody had Tyler Onyedim this high, and it is not close. The Bills reached 52 spots to get him at the Round 7 slot.
They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with linebacker solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Their trades came out a wash either way.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jaishawn Barham at No. 83 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
DeMonte Capehart in pick No. 126 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They reached a country mile for Ephesians Prysock at pick 165, and the board is aghast. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They went early on Red Murdock in the Round 6 slot, and the value did not follow. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Tyler Onyedim in Round 7, Pick 4 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
