They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Every board in the league had Jones lower, and that gap is the story. They banked enough surplus on Coleman to cover a lot of smaller sins.
A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
A wild overpay on Kingsley Suamataia in the 34th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Keon Coleman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Fabien Lovett in the Round 4 slot, miles early. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Elijah Jones. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They talked themselves into Jaylen Harrell at pick 182, and the board did not agree. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A real head-scratcher, Jalen Green in the 229th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
