Philadelphia Eagles

Best value of the weekend goes to the Eagles for Muhammad: B.

Somebody in the Round 6 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Jabbar Muhammad, the No. 152 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.32 · Pick 64 · Bradyn Swinson · DE-EDGE · rank 64
Bradyn Swinson at No. 64 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.31 · Pick 95 · Donovan Jackson · OT · rank 86
The board had Donovan Jackson higher than pick 95, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Dylan Fairchild · OG · rank 94
They paid sticker price for Dylan Fairchild in the 96th overall pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.28 · Pick 129 · Kyren Lacy · WR · rank 134
Kyren Lacy in pick No. 129 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.30 · Pick 169 · Robert Spears-Jennings · S · rank 146
Circle this one: Robert Spears-Jennings at the Round 5 slot is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.34 · Pick 173 · Darius Alexander · DT · rank 131
Taking Darius Alexander in slot 173 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.20 · Pick 198 · Jabbar Muhammad · CB · rank 152
You do not let a cornerback like Jabbar Muhammad reach Round 6, Pick 20 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.34 · Pick 212 · Karene Reid · LB · rank 194
Somehow Karene Reid was still sitting there in the 212th pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R7.18 · Pick 236 · Brant Kuithe · TE · rank 233
A reasonable price with a little left over, Brant Kuithe in the 236th pick. It fills a real need, too.
R7.28 · Pick 246 · Kyle Monangai · RB · rank 204
A running back of that caliber at pick No. 246 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.38 · Pick 256 · Trey Zuhn III · OT · rank 215
Trey Zuhn III in the 256th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A need, and now a little less of one.
