Thirty-one other rooms let Lathan Ransom slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the 164th pick. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
They chose more darts over a bigger single swing.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 32 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Donovan Ezeiruaku at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Marcus Mbow in pick 96 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Barrett Carter in the 130th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pat Bryant slid further than he should have, and slot 162 is lovely value for the wide receiver. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Steal is underselling it; Lathan Ransom at pick No. 164 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jordan Phillips at Round 5, Pick 27 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Raheim Sanders slipping to the 169th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
No drama and no debate, Dorian Strong went about where he belonged in slot 172. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Hayden Conner at pick No. 207 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Logan Parr at the 254th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
