Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Patriots came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The Walker steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
If Briningstool pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a cornerstone up front. A clean fit for the roster.
Jalon Walker in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Tate Ratledge at No. 69 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Fair-plus on Tez Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They paid a round early for Jake Briningstool in the 144th pick, more than the board wanted. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
