The Eagles put a flag in the ground for Keilan Robinson, 102 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.
The Jones pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Guyton in the Round 2 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Junior Colson at the 54th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Marshawn Kneeland at Round 3, Pick 34 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jarrian Jones is a better player than the 137th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in No. 163 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Christian Jones. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Javon Baker at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Keilan Robinson in the 243rd pick, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
