You could see the war room lean forward. Jalon Walker at the 44th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

In pick 23 they get a bell-cow for the offense, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
A linebacker of that caliber at slot 44 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow Alfred Collins was still sitting there in pick No. 76, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. A need, and now a little less of one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Gunnar Helm in the 84th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Jalen Royals at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
