The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Miyan Williams, the 217th pick, roughly 20 picks past where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th pick they get a bendy edge with upside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in the Round 2 slot, with Ennis Rakestraw Jr. worth more than the price. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kiran Amegadjie at slot 57 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Cooper Beebe in pick No. 83. A need, and now a little less of one.
Christian Mahogany slid further than he should have, and Round 3, Pick 25 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Jalen McMillan was the payoff at the 91st overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tykee Smith at No. 92 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamal Hadden in pick 147. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Miyan Williams at slot 217 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Devin Leary at pick No. 246 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
