Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jalen Farmer got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at the 188th overall pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The Washington Jr. pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes. The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get an island corner. Need was not the driver here.
Jake Slaughter slid further than he should have, and the 64th overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mike Washington Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jalen Farmer at Round 6, Pick 7 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
