Somebody in pick No. 43 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Terrion Arnold, the No. 20 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They will answer for taking safety early while edge rusher, quarterback and other spots went begging. Reaching for Taylor III left real value on the table behind him.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Circle this one: Terrion Arnold at the 43rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach for Javon Bullard in No. 57; a little patience would have been rewarded. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending Round 3, Pick 25 on Rod Moore with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots unsolved.
The board had Blake Corum higher than slot 92, and the running back fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They talked themselves into Leonard Taylor III at the Round 3 slot, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They took Sataoa Laumea at par in the 125th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Cedric Gray in pick 135 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
