They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Kamran James, 135 picks early at Round 6, Pick 30. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Stukes pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. Adding Bill Murray by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Gabe Jacas at par in pick No. 47, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Anthony Hill Jr. was still sitting there in pick 57, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Nice patience on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They will replay D'Angelo Ponds at the 78th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jadarian Price in No. 89 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A premium they did not need to pay, Parker Brailsford a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
Circle this one: Treydan Stukes at the 129th pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A big swing on Kamran James at the 211th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Kaden Wetjen in pick No. 239, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Diego Pavia in Round 7, Pick 25. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
