Whoever sat across the table from the Eagles should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A.

Getting McCormick where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They will answer for taking linebacker early while interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots went begging.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The veteran additions, Dalton Schultz chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.22 · Pick 22 · Jared Verse · DE-EDGE · rank 11
In the 22nd pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 55
They took Xavier Worthy at par in No. 53, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
Of all the spots to shop, they chose linebacker. Cedric Gray in pick 127 leaves interior defensive lineman, safety and other spots for later.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Mason McCormick · OT · rank 146
Mason McCormick at slot 172 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.35 · Pick 210 · Johnny Dixon · CB · rank 191
They barely believed it either: Johnny Dixon still on the board at Round 6, Pick 35. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
