When a board-topper like Malik Muhammad slides to the 123rd pick, you do not overthink it, and the Chargers did not. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Somehow Dillon Thieneman was still sitting there in pick 55, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They read the board right and Chase Bisontis was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 22. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Malik Muhammad at the 123rd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Josh Cameron at No. 204 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
