B-
Washington Commanders
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Commanders: B-.
by grady.s ·
2026 NFL Draft
· 6 picks
· 2 steals
· 3 reaches
Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jaishawn Barham at the 71st overall pick is 50 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Klein.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 7 they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. A real need, handled.
Jaishawn Barham in pick 71 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Isaiah World in No. 147, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Marlin Klein at slot 187 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Aiden Fisher in Round 6, Pick 28, and the value did not follow. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Tyren Montgomery is a better player than the 223rd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
