There is a lot to like until you notice offensive lineman is still a hole. The Falcons never got to the one that mattered most. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The cost of the Perkins Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Landing Cisse that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but offensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Nice patience on Brandon Cisse, who had no business lasting to pick No. 48. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Brenen Thompson at the 79th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A premium they did not need to pay, Harold Perkins Jr. a notch or two before his time. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach on Bobby Jamison-Travis in No. 197; the board had better options right there. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They read the board right and Noah Whittington was the payoff at slot 231. It fills a real need, too.
