They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Markel Bell, 44 picks early at the 61st overall pick. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. On value alone, Cuevas makes the weekend a net positive.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value.
Markel Bell in the Round 2 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Zakee Wheatley is a better player than slot 93 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Sawyer Robertson at Round 6, Pick 26 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They let Dane Key come to them and pounced at pick 232. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Josh Cuevas at the 251st pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Desmond Reid in slot 252 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
