The Cowboys spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Miyan Williams, the No. 190 name on the board, in No. 212.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Jackson Powers-Johnson in pick No. 56, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Marist Liufau at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tommy Eichenberg slid further than he should have, and pick 124 is lovely value for the linebacker. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Chau Smith-Wade is a better player than No. 174 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
