The Myles Cole selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 35 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Amarius Mims in No. 24, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Junior Colson at the 63rd overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Malachi Corley in slot 87 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Mohamed Kamara at pick No. 94 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Wright in Round 4, Pick 24 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Kitan Oladapo at pick 174 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Myles Cole at pick 212 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
They barely believed it either: De'Corian Clark still on the board at pick No. 215. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid sticker price for Carson Steele in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
