There is a lot to like until you notice tight end is still a hole. The Chiefs never got to the one that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
Hart at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 32nd pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Adonai Mitchell at Round 2, Pick 7 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Christian Mahogany at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Cam Hart come to them and pounced at pick 131. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Good price on Isaac Guerendo in slot 142, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A need, and now a little less of one.
By-the-book stuff, Tahj Washington at the 173rd overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A slide stopped in No. 221, with Nathaniel Watson worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
