It is the swing that defines the weekend: Seth McGowan in the 25th pick, a good 385 spots before the room expected him.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Smith at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a centerpiece for the ground game, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
They jumped the gun on Tate Ratledge, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They talked themselves into Omari Thomas at No. 89, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Brashard Smith slid further than he should have, and pick 127 is lovely value for the running back. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Alijah Clark well ahead of where he belonged. A minor itch, scratched.
A big swing on Shaun Dolac at the 243rd pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
