The Patriots spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Cam Skattebo, the No. 105 name on the board, in slot 145. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Reaching for Webb left real value on the table behind him.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Luther Burden III and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a difference-maker at receiver at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Wyatt Milum at Round 2, Pick 6 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Harold Fannin Jr. at the Round 3 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They jumped the gun on Donovan Jackson, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Jermari Harris at the 97th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
The board had Danny Stutsman higher than pick No. 105, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
A running back of that caliber at pick 145 is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A real head-scratcher, Clay Webb in the 219th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Jordan Hancock in No. 222 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
