Call it larceny. Nicholas Singleton sat on the board until the Round 5 slot, and the Vikings did not need to be asked twice. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 28 they get an anchor for the defensive front, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid sticker price for Jake Majors in Round 3, Pick 33, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Barrett Carter at the Round 5 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They barely believed it either: Nicholas Singleton still on the board at pick No. 163. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Bryce Foster here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
