Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars cashed the board's mistake on Virgil: B.

The Jaguars spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Reggie Virgil, the No. 167 name on the board, in pick No. 203.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Kamara has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it.

Good work on the whole, with offensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Arvell Reese · LB · rank 7
In the 24th overall pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Christen Miller · DL · rank 56
Steal is underselling it; Christen Miller at the 84th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.36 · Pick 100 · Mike Washington Jr. · RB · rank 75
Mike Washington Jr. at slot 100 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.24 · Pick 124 · Mikail Kamara · DE-EDGE · rank 153
They talked themselves into Mikail Kamara at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R5.24 · Pick 164 · Charles Demmings · CB · rank 149
A quiet steal in pick No. 164: Charles Demmings for less than the market said. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.26 · Pick 166 · Louis Moore · S · rank 166
No edge and no loss on Louis Moore in pick 166; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.22 · Pick 203 · Reggie Virgil · WR · rank 167
Reggie Virgil in No. 203 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.17 · Pick 233 · Thaddeus Dixon · CB · rank 220
They read the board right and Thaddeus Dixon was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 17. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.24 · Pick 240 · Jimmy Rolder · LB · rank 221
Somehow Jimmy Rolder was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 24, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It fills a real need, too.
R7.29 · Pick 245 · Miles Kitselman · TE · rank 225
Miles Kitselman in No. 245 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.39 · Pick 255 · Miller Moss · QB · rank 249
A clean, defensible pick in the 255th overall pick with a little surplus value in Miller Moss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
