The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Kamara has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Getting Newton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.

A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Josh Newton in pick 139, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.16
· Pick 152
· Jaylin Simpson
· CB
· rank 137
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaylin Simpson at the 152nd pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.2
· Pick 222
· JD Bertrand
· LB
· rank 220
No drama and no debate, JD Bertrand went about where he belonged in No. 222. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
