There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Packers never got to the one that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Murphy II value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. If Beebe pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th overall pick they get a blindside protector. A clean fit for the roster.
Cooper Beebe at No. 41 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
No edge and no loss on Calen Bullock in pick 43; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Byron Murphy II at slot 73. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They paid sticker price for McKinnley Jackson in pick No. 82, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Danny Stutsman for less than the market said. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
